New Year – getting back to painting… Its been too long

I’ve decided to turn a new leaf and start getting proactive (and stuff like that). Building on the body of work I left behind at the end of August is now my main priority. I need to start getting back to my calling.

One on-line tool I have to recommend on colour choosing is a website called Color Wizard

Although a hand-held colour wheel will do the same thing this website is very handy if, like me, you have misplaced your colour wheel. Picking one colour will enable you to find Monochromatic, Analogous, Tetrads, Triads, Complementary and split-Complimentary colour combinations. For me, when I was asked to do a commission based on wall colour (brown!) this really helped nail the tetradic combination. Leaving out the starting colour I could then proceed to come up with my ‘base’ colours.

Anyway – peace out. And Happy New Year, Salutations, etc, etc…

Hopefully I’ll have more to say and share in this year!
